Trace Viewer

Introduction

The Trace Viewer lets you see what files and other traces of your whereabouts Internet Explorer has left on your computer. You can use GhostWipe to remove all these traces in one fell swoop. Or you can use Trace Viewer to inspect them, and delete them one at a time.

Using

When you first open TraceViewer, you may need to wait a few seconds before items appear in the Sites list (if you have visited many sites, it may take a while for your computer to collect all the necessary information). You'll see a list of sites you've visited appear in the left-side list. When you click on one, its cached files will appear in the Files list, its cookies will appear in the Cookies list and any history items related to it will appear in the History list. You can view these latter three lists by using the tabs in the Trace Viewer window.

If you right-click an item in the Files, Cookies or History list, a list of actions will appear (shown above). You can open the file for inspection, or you can delete it from your computer. Deleting history entries actually deletes them from Internet Explorer's history; deleting files and cookies also removes them from your computer.
